How to Make Football Stadium Sundaes for the Big Game!

One of the best things about Game Day is the food. We love the snacks, barbequed food, and tasty appetizers, but we especially love the game day dessert!  This year we plan on getting our game on with one of these delicious Ice Cream Stadium Sundaes from In Katrina’s Kitchen.

Here’s what you’ll need:
Bowl shaped ice cream sundae bowls
Royal Icing (Grey and white)
Multicolored sprinkles

Instructions:
1. Pipe the grey royal icing into the waffle bowl to make sections for stadium seats. Let it dry for 1-2 hours.
2. Once dry, cover inside the sections with a thin layer of icing. Put sprinkles on the icing until they cover all the sections and form a ring. Let dry for 5 hours.
3. Now you are ready to put your Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream in the bowl! Flatten it down and use white icing to pipe the football field.
4. You can use small colored candies and other sundae toppings as players to make your own football plays!

3 Fun Ways to Fight the Winter Blues

It's a brand new year! Now that the holiday festivities are over and the weather is still frigid outside, the winter blues could set in.  We have compiled a list of some of the best ideas to help fight them.
1. Create a Winter Wonderland Indoors
Making your house look like a winter wonderland can be easy and fun. You can set the mood with the right lighting and decorations. Paper snowflakes are a cute way to get started. You can string them as garland and hang them from the ceiling. If you want to kick it up a notch, light candles and place them in blue and white candle covers to cast a wintry shade throughout the room. Add fake snow, glittering decorations, and winter-themed food and drinks and you’ll have all the joys of winter without the cold!
Here are some winter wonderland friendly food and drinks that you can incorporate:
2. Luau Party
Most hold tropical themed parties in summer, but what better way to fight the winter blues than to have fun in the sun despite them! Turn up the heat inside and pretend the weather is warm. Although having authentic totem poles and cute tiki bars is awesome, transforming your home into a tropical paradise can be done with a few simple decorations.  You can choose to buy your party supplies from a retailer, since most are usually stocked with luau party sets or you can make your own.  If you decide to go the DIY route here are a few tips from Zween.
Here are some Luau themed food and drinks to try too:
Luau Punch
3. Bundle up and play outside
So this one is pretty simple, but also super inexpensive.  One of the best ways to fight those winter blues is by enjoying the winter while it lasts! (Even though that may be longer than many of us would like.) Sledding, skiing, tubing, and ice skating are just a few of the outdoor winter activities that you can try.  If you want to go the extra mile, visit a rustic log cabin or winter resort for a weekend getaway.

How to Make Baked Ice Cream Snowballs

New Year’s is said to be the most celebrated holiday worldwide, with many cultures and countries establishing their own annual traditions. In the U.S., the Times Square ball drop is widely celebrated and has inspired smaller cities to create spinoff traditions like the annual pickle drop held in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania.  You can get into the New Year’s spirit too and make miniature edible snowballs with this recipe for Baked Ice Cream Snowballs adapted from Spoonful.

What you’ll need:
A dozen chocolate or vanilla wafer cookies (you can substitute for thin slices of cake)
Your favorite ice cream
Meringue
3 egg whites
¼ tsp. Cream of Tartar
¼ cup white sugar
½ tsp. vanilla extract
Favorite toppings (sprinkles, nuts, cherries, fudge, etc.)
Instructions:
Crush the cookies into the bottom of small, oven-friendly serving bowls, like ramekins pressing it to the bottom. Fill the bowls with the desired amount of ice cream and level it at the top with a spatula.  Cover and place bowls in freezer to chill while preparing the meringue.
Meringue
The meringue will create the snowball look. Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Whip the egg whites in a medium-sized mixing bowl with a blender until they are bubbly. Stir in cream of tartar until it looks like whipped cream.  Then stir in the sugar a spoonful at a time and the vanilla extract.  Continue mixing for about 2 minutes.
Snowballs
Remove your cookie and ice cream mixture from the freezer and spread the meringue on top, making sure to cover the ice cream entirely. Place the bowls on a cookie sheet and put in the oven for 1 to 3 minutes or until the meringue is golden brown at the tips.  Lastly, add toppings and enjoy!

With this recipe you can easily incorporate any of your favorite Cold Cow ice cream flavors.  Head over to the online store if you want to have ice cream delivered to you!
