On Monday we asked if you knew when ice cream was first invented. This is a topic of some debate since we have no way of knowing exactly when, but history points out that it was likely 4th century BC, or perhaps even sooner.
The likelyhood is that Roman Emperor Nero started the trend by having ice brought down from the mountains and had fruit toppings added, this is not the earliest example, but it's likely that Nero made this a popular trend.
